The Town of Estes Park retained Johnson Consulting to assist in the preparation of a market study and proforma for a multi-purpose event center that will be added to their existing inventory of facilities at the Estes Park Fairgrounds in Colorado. The multi-purpose event center is expected to support and supplement the fairground’s summer use, which has a strong equestrian and livestock event orientation. Furthermore, the Town of Estes Park is suffering from seasonality problems caused by the winter months and desire the new multi-purpose event center to address those corresponding issues by enabling the community to support year-round activities. The anticipated development of the multi-use center and the year-round activities will include a variety of shows, events, sports, and other indoor uses, which could potentially provide a more diversified revenue stream and operating profile for the overall complex.
Johnson Consulting’s report included an economic and demographic overview of the local market, a market analysis of local and comparable facilities, and conclusions in regards to the Estes Park market as it relates to facility opportunities. Johnson Consulting also projected operating and financial results, provided funding and management options, and performed an economic and fiscal impact analysis.
